  • What would you do if you could not drive? Some people opt to move as they grow older so they are closer to resources. Others access transportation options to increase their ability to remain independent.
  • Do you know where and how you would like to live as you grow older? What do you value in your home environment? What are your long-term goals?
  • Do you have a disaster plan in case of severe weather, power loss, flooding, or other natural or manmade disasters? Do you have supplies in your home and a plan to be on your own for at least 3 days? Conducting an assessment to plan for future needs and a safe home environment that supports aging in place assists to prolong living independently and may be an alternative to moving in later years.
